Make people fall in love with your brand from day one: the secrets of promoting handmade business on the Internet

03.12.2020

On December 3, 2020, Ukrposhta and the USAID’s Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program released the last, fifth part of their free online education course dedicated to creating and promoting a brand on Amazon, ETSY, Shopify and eBay.

The first four blocks of the educational video course show how to open a store on the world's famous online trading platforms. The last, fifth block, tells how to create a Wow brand, identify competitors and target audience, set up promotion on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. This block’s expert is Alyona Myrza, co-founder of the multi-brand store Kapsula with 15 years’ experience in marketing.

A carefully chosen promotion strategy and marketing plan help to create an attractive brand, which, in its turn, can bring a 50% increase in direct website visits, as well as in the sales of goods. To create a brand identity on your own, the expert recommends Canva or Crello services. The video course also offers special tools for handmade manufacturers to study the demand and competition on e-commerce platforms. For example, Helium10 for Amazon, Marmalead for Etsy and so on. Even if entrepreneurs plan to sell only through their own websites, these tools will help them to study the demand in detail. You can find out more about creating and promoting your own store on online platforms on the Ukrposhta YouTube channel.

We would like to remind that on October 21, 2020, Ukrposhta and the USAID’s Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program launched a number of educational videos about trade opportunities on international online platforms: Amazon, ETSY, Shopify and eBay. The educational course consists of five blocks of educational videos that were released every week in November on the Ukrposhta YouTube channel, and short manuals that can be found on the Ukrposhta E-Export School Facebook page.
