Legendary prophetic stamp "Russian warship, go...!"
It all started with a phrase from the defenders of Zmiinyi Island. On 1 March 2022, Ukrposhta launched a competition for a sketch for the postage stamp "Russian warship, go...!". The illustration by Boris Groh received more than 1700 votes out of 8,000. The new stamp was released on 12 April.
We did not agree with the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a promo, but on 13 April, the cruiser Moskva, depicted on the postage stamp, was hit and went down. Instead, an unprecedented excitement arose. A few days later, 500,000 stamps were already sold out!
Ukrainians formed long queues. They posted memes. They sold the most popular stamp at charity auctions ("Russian warship, go...!". was the most expensive lot on Prozorro.Sale. It went under the hammer for UAH 4 million. And that was just one charity auction among hundreds!). And when the interest in philately seemed to be waning, websites selling new stamps were "brought down".
The postage stamp "Russian warship, go...!" was presented to Prince Charles, Andrzej Duda and others. It was exhibited at the Smithsonian Postal Museum in Washington, DC. And in the National Maritime Museum in the UK as well. In addition, the most famous media (CNN, the Guardian, The Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, etc.) wrote about this and other postal issues.
It also helped Ukrposhta to win the prestigious World Post & Parcel Awards 2023 in the Philatelic Campaign category.
A little more about the postal issue
The following postage stamps were issued: "Russian warship, go...!" with face value F (for payment for postal items within Ukraine) and face value W (for payment for international postal items), as well as a first-day cover.

The inevitable end of the enemy cruiser in the subject of the stamp "Russian warship... DONE!"
On 12 April 2022, the "Russian warship, go...!” stamps were put into circulation, and the very next day it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit the cruiser "Moskva" depicted in the sketch and it went down.
This event contributed to the incredible popularity and collector value of the "Russian warship, go...!" stamp. Therefore, it was decided to issue a new postage stamp "Russian warship... DONE!", which, like the previous one, was designed by Boris Groh.
A little more about the postal issue
The date of putting into circulation is 23 May 2022. The "Russian warship... DONE!" sheet consists of three postage stamps and three coupons to them. The coupons reproduce the image of the first postage stamp "Russian warship, go...!", which allows us to trace the history of the enemy cruiser and its inevitable ending in dynamics.
There are two face values of the stamp: F (for payment for postal items within Ukraine) and W (for payment for international postal items). The "Russian warship... DONE!" stamps are accompanied by a First Day cover and a postcard.

On the wings of the "Ukrainian Dream"
The sketch for the Ukrainian Dream stamp was created by 11-year-old Sofia Kravchuk, the winner of the Ukrainian nationwide competition "What is Ukraine for me?" held in 2021 to mark the 30th anniversary of Ukraine`s independence.
The organisers received 10,276 drawings and photographs from 6,134 participants. The most striking of them, depicting a child`s winged dream, resonated with the majority. It depicts the world`s largest and most powerful Ukrainian aircraft, the AN-225 Mriya, decorated with pink flowers, flying to the stars. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the Russian-Ukrainian war. Every day the enemy ruthlessly destroys, but it will not succeed in destroying the Ukrainian dream of being free.

The whole world heard: "Good evening, we are from Ukraine!"
The postal issue "Good evening, we are from Ukraine!" is the most popular, as Ukrainians chose not only the stamp design but also its possible subject matter.
The phrase "Good evening, we are from Ukraine!" became iconic in 2022, and for good reason. It is a part of Ukrainian hits and is heard on the air. It is used by journalists, the military, and government officials. It was the one that respondents preferred among the five designs for the new wartime postage stamp.
In the contest for the best design for the stamp "Good evening, we are from Ukraine!" an illustration by Anastasiia Bondarets received 340+ thousand votes out of ≈900 thousand (a total of 1500 creative illustrations were submitted). The author sought to capture the ingenuity of Ukrainians and their willingness to do whatever it takes to bring the victory closer.

There are two face values of the stamp: M (for paying for postal items within Ukraine) and W (for paying for international postal items). The design of the W stamp sheet features the tête-bêche philatelic technique, where one row of stamps is placed inverted, which adds artistic appeal and collectors value to the postal issue.

On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine: postal block "Free. Unbreakable. Invincible"
Each illustration on the postage stamp "Free. Unbreakable. Invincible" postage stamp tells the tragic story of the Ukrainian people, and they are united by one word — "war":
- a woman in the rubble of a destroyed apartment;
- a mother and a baby hiding in the subway from rocket attacks;
- a girl in front of burnt cars;
- a drama theatre in Mariupol, which has become the last refuge for many Ukrainians;
- Sviatohirsk Lavra, which has been repeatedly attacked by the enemy;
- a baby carriage, suitcases and toys that were abandoned at the railway station.
And despite everything, Ukrainian people demonstrate indescribable resilience. The postal issue "Free. Unbreakable. Invincible" is dedicated to them.

A prophecy come true: "Crimean bridge for an encore!" postage stamp
The sketch for the "Crimean bridge for an encore!" stamp depicts a scene from the Titanic film against the backdrop of a burning bridge. One can immediately see the vivid satirical details that hint at the current situation in Ukraine:
- a cigarette butt in the hands of the heroine as a hint that the occupiers follow the instruction "do not smoke anywhere, smoke where you have not yet been smoked";
- the occupiers car flying into the abyss and losing the loot;
- a Bayraktar that "accidentally" flies over a bridge;
- an enemy tank being destroyed.

Has been, is and will be: "Kherson is Ukraine!"
The main element of the sketch is a slice of watermelon, which depicts the scenes that accompanied the temporary occupation of the city: peaceful rallies, buildings on fire, torture. The seeds look like missiles that the Russian invaders are ruthlessly firing at the Kherson region. The stamp sheet shows a map of Kherson, a hero city liberated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The art envelope and a postcard illustrate the protests of the residents.

"Victorious New Year!"
The design for the new stamp was chosen by voting on Ukrposhta`s Facebook and Instagram pages. 15,500 respondents were touched by the illustration of an 11th-grader, Valeria Mykhailova.
The sketch depicts a girl and a Ukrainian soldier who celebrate the holiday separately: she is alone, he is in the line of fire.
This illustration became the leader of online voting for a reason. Currently, there are millions of those who carry the pain of separation from their loved ones. And millions of those who can hug their loved ones only in their thoughts. As well as millions of those who dream of a quiet and healing New Year for Ukraine and each of us.
The story continues in the plot of the First Day cover: lovers celebrate the New Year together, planning a happy future in the free country.

"Warriors of Light. Warriors of the Good" who tirelessly restore the infrastructure
The postal issue "Warriors of Light. Warriors of the Good" is about light conquering the darkness.
The five stamps depict those who selflessly and tirelessly return electricity, heat and gas to Ukrainian homes, as well as restore roads and communications: power engineers, gas and water supply workers, road builders and communications workers.
The sheet shines brightly in ultraviolet rays. It was printed using selective varnishing technology.

Marking the Year of Unbreakability with the stamp "FCK PTN (PTN PNKh)!"
They wanted to make us afraid every day — instead, we improve our fighting skills every day, although we count the new year differently from now on: from 24 to 24 February.
The postal issue "FCK PTN (PTN PNKh)!" features a graffiti by the English street artist Banksy on the wall of a destroyed house in the town of Borodianka in Kyiv region. In 2022, the artist created seven graffiti in Ukraine, and it is no coincidence that Ukrposhta chose the one depicting a little boy defeating a judoka with a skilful throw. For Ukraine and every Ukrainian, 2022 is the year of the battle between David and Goliath. The year of resistance. Fierce, intense, persistent.
"FCK PTN (PTN PNKh)!" is the first postage stamp in the world to feature a Banksy graffiti. The issue is charitable.

The postal block "We will not forget! We will not forgive! Bucha. Irpin. Hostomel" was issued to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel from Russian invaders.
The stamps feature documentary photos of a destroyed convoy of enemy vehicles on Vokzalna Street in Bucha, the Irpin River crossing, a key route for civilian evacuation, and an image of the world`s largest AN-225 Mriya aircraft destroyed by the enemy at the Hostomel airfield. On the margins of the postal block is a panoramic photo of Irpin, showing the extent of the destruction.
The art envelope features a photo collage of images from the front pages of world newspapers covering the events. And the First Day cover features an illustration of a map showing the direction of the Russian troop`s advance on Kyiv from these cities.

Waiting for the F-16: "Fighters of Evil" postal issue
The "Fighters of Evil" charity stamp was issued in anticipation of the F-16s, which are considered to be one of the best jet fighters in the world and can significantly strengthen the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The stamp depicts a grater with holes in the shape of an F-16 aircraft, which is destroying the symbol of the "evil empire", the Kremlin. The face value of the stamp is symbolic: F+16.00 (F corresponds to the rate for sending a registered letter weighing up to 50 grams within Ukraine, and 16.00 is a donation to the Armed Forces).
The knight wearing a trident helmet on the First Day cover (the day of the stamps issue) represents the nobility and valour of Ukrainian defenders.
To complete the release of the "Fighters of Evil" stamp, The Last Barricade restaurant presented a cocktail called "Spicy Borsch — the Fighter of Evil" and at the same time supported the charity initiative. UAH 16 from each cocktail ordered within 16 days (from 7 to 22 August 2023) will be donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Resistance to the enemy is getting stronger every time. And thanks to the joint project of Ukrposhta and The Last Barricade, the protest is also philatelic and culinary.

Postal issue "Mother Ukraine" dedicated to the Independence Day of the country
"The Motherland", which stands on the Pechersk Hills, is both a symbol of the lost struggle for Kyivs historic landscape and one of the world`s finest examples of monumental sculpture. There are those who think it is appropriate to get rid of it, as well as those who tend to keep it. The installation of the Ukrainian trident and its possible renaming to "Mother Ukraine" is a step towards rethinking history.
Ukrposhta, as usual, does not stand aside and immediately responds to current events. The "Mother Ukraine" stamp issue visualises the updated image of the monumental sculpture and demonstrates that the conceptualisation is ongoing.

To the Day of Remembrance of the fallen defenders of Ukraine: Charity postage stamp "Eternal Memory!"
On 29 August, the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine, Ukrposhta organised a silent special cancellation of the stamp "Eternal Memory!". The event took place near the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War, which runs along the wall of St. Michael`s Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv. The format of the event was dictated by the postal issue: without media and unnecessary words — it was silence that was speaking.
The sketch for the postage stamp is a painting "Sorrow" (2016) by the Honoured Artist of Ukraine Oleh Shupliak. It depicts a Kozak bandura player bowing his head over the graves of his comrades, with cranes flying above him.

- outstanding personal bravery, courage or an outstanding heroic act during a combat mission in conditions of danger to life and direct contact with the enemy;
- outstanding success in commanding troops (forces) during combat operations.
The historic highest military award of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Ukrainian Supreme Liberation Council, the Cross of Military Merit, designed by Ukrainian UPA artist Neil Khasevych, was used as a model for the award.
