In 2021 Ukrposhta has increased export by 27% and delivered 4.7 million kg of postal items

According to preliminary data for 2021, Ukrposhta processed and delivered 4.7 million kg of export items to the world-wide destinations. The numbers increased by 27% compared to 2020.

Most of all, Ukrainians sent parcels to the United States, Great Britain, EU countries, Canada, Australia and Japan.

“Despite the fact that 2021 was a very difficult year for international postal logistics (because the passenger air traffic did not recover to a sufficient level), Ukrposhta succeeded to maintain export growth and increased the delivery of international export items by almost a third within the last year. Thanks to our partners, Windrose Airlines, we continued the United States charter program and sent 96 direct charter cargo flights from Kyiv to New York. Delivery to other destinations was provided by our partnership with 15 passenger airlines. In addition to delivery improving, we continued to invest in the small and medium-sized businesses development and support on E-Export by starting effective partnership with Wish and eBay and creating a special educational portal for Ukrainian manufacturers”, said Yuliia Pavlenko, Director of Ukrposhta International Operations Department.

As part of the charter program with Windrose Airlines, the flights to the United States on aircrafts of various types are made to ensures that 70% of Ukrposhta export items are delivered without reloading in transit airports.

The charter program gives more possibilities for transportation by passenger flights. Today, Ukrposhta works in partnerships with leading airlines, including UIA, Turkish Airlines, LOT, KLM, Lufthansa and AirBaltic. The company uses four airports to send parcels abroad - Boryspil airport, Kyiv Sikorsky airport, Lviv Danylo Halytskyi airport and Odessa airport. The airports provide up to 30 flights with export items every day.

For loyal clients, who are representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, there is a loyalty program and a cumulative system of discounts. In parallel, Ukrposhta has created an educational Export Portal to help Ukrainian entrepreneurs find new target markets https://e-export.ukrposhta.ua. Together with one of the world's largest marketplaces eBay, Ukrposhta launched a campaign to support Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses. This allowed lockal exporters to receive a number of privileges from eBay, including personal mentorship from the marketplace team, a free 3 months subscription to the store and support from a personal manager.

Ukrposhta has also started cooperation with the fastest growing mobile e-commerce platform Wish, which opened up an additional opportunity for Ukrainians to sell their products in the United States, EU countries and Australia.

As it was mentioned before, Ukrposhta delivered 3.7 million kg of export items in 2020. It should be noted that, in terms of the quality of EMS international export items express delivery, Ukrposhta took the 2nd place among 198 countries in the PwC world ranking in the third quarter of 2021 (by rising 121 steps compared to the same period in 2020).
