Ukrposhta gets faster: 100% of parcels will be processed on automated lines

04.02.2025

Ukrposhta has fully completed the automation of its sorting facilities. From now on, 100% of parcels across the country will be processed on automated lines. It will ensure a technological breakthrough in processing speed and delivery efficiency.

The new sorting facilities will increase the speed of parcels sorting and accuracy by eight times, making next-day delivery between cities and regional centers across Ukraine a reality.

Thanks to this modernization, Ukrposhta is able process about two million shipments per day, reaching a processing speed up of to five parcels per second.

"2025 marks the completion of Ukrposhta’s most large-scale reforms, with sorting automation being one of the key milestones. Today, we’ve  opened a new modern logistics center in Zaporizhzhia, officially finishing the project of our sorting facilities automation. From now on, parcels across the country will be delivered faster, with minimal risk of loss or mistake," said Ukrposhta’s CEO Igor Smelyansky.

Investments in modernization amounted to 1 billion UAH of Ukrposhta's own funds. All sorting centers are equipped with the latest equipment and software from the Ukrainian company UIS.

Along with the launch of automated lines, Ukrposhta has implemented a new logistics model. Optimizing routes between terminals, logistics centers, and depots reduces delivery times: at the start –  between regional centers and major cities – achieving next-day delivery—and then extending to all corners of Ukraine.

Currently, fully automated lines are operational in seven key hubs: Kyiv-Right Bank, Kyiv-Left Bank, Odesa, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, and Dnipro. Additionally, 17 logistics centers across Ukraine are equipped with semi-automated lines.

All sorting centers are provided with powerful industrial generators, ensuring uninterrupted operations even during power disruptions.

In 2025, Ukrposhta plans to complete the automation of letter and newspaper sorting, as well as the kitting of pharmaceutical orders. The company also intends to open another international shipment processing center.
