To fight the enemy: Ukrposhta donates 3.7 million hryvnias to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) unit to purchase special operations equipment
Ukrposhta has donated UAH 3.7 million to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The funds were raised from the sale of the charity stamp “Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, transferred with the help of the KSE Foundation and will be used to purchase the necessary equipment for the unit’s special operations.
The charity postage stamp “Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine” was issued by Ukrposhta with the assistance of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in the summer of 2023 and is a continuation of the series “Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!”. In this way, Ukrposhta not only wanted to honour the units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine that work behind enemy lines, destroy enemy transport communications and perform other highly complex and secret tasks, but also to help the defenders purchase the necessary equipment for special operations. The stamp was printed in more than 1 million copies.
“Ukrposhta systematically supports the Ukrainian army and our defenders. Thanks to the Ukrainians who purchased the stamp “Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine”, today we have the opportunity to transfer funds to the DIU unit, which will be used to purchase “revenge” weapons, the striking power of which will soon be felt by the Russian invaders. I thank our intelligence officers for their exquisite work in destroying the enemy and I would like to urge all Ukrainians to continue supporting the army by ordering charity stamps at Ukrposhta branches or online,” commented Igor Smelyansky, Director General of Ukrposhta.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian stamps with a charitable component have been helping to raise the necessary funds to help the country’s security and defence forces, as well as to implement important humanitarian initiatives. Recently, due to the funds raised from the sale of the charity stamp “Dog Patron”, Ukrposhta handed over a demining machine to the State Emergency Service, which will be used in the Chernihiv area by the humanitarian demining unit to help clear Ukrainian land.
