Ukrposhta ensures uninterrupted operation of its offices with the help of the EBRD

Thanks to a €4.5 million grant from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Ukrposhta, based on its post offices network, in 2023 successfully implemented a project to deploy "unbreakable points" by purchasing 1716 power generators of various capacities and 1552 Starlink satellite internet terminals with an annual subscription.

By working together with the European partner, Ukrposhta has ensured the uninterrupted operation of post offices, especially in remote and war-affected regions of Ukraine. The power generators and Starlink satellite Internet terminals provide a stable connection to the network, which in turn guarantees Ukrainians continuous access to postal and financial services.

It should be recalled that at the end of 2022, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved the grant of 4.5 million for Ukrposhta to ensure the uninterrupted operation of post offices in the event of a power and connection outage. The project was registered with the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine under No. 5174 as international technical assistance.

For reference: The previous successful project of Ukrposhta together with the EBRD was the launch of 1600+ mobile post offices during 2021-2022. Thus, mobile post office teams deliver to Ukrainians medicines, periodicals and parcels, accept payments for utility bills. A mobile post office is a fully functional post office that comes to small villages and hamlets with a population less than 1,200 residents to ensure that people in even the most remote and smallest settlements of Ukraine receive all the postal, logistics and financial services they need.
