Ukrposhta resumes work in the liberated Lyman, Donetsk region

07.10.2022

On October 5, Ukrposhta started issuing pensions in the liberated territories of Donetsk region.

Mobile Ukrposhta offices are already operating in Lyman, Sviatohirsk and Yarove village. Four teams of Ukrposhta mobile offices are working in the de-occupied territories: they issue pension payments for the period when the settlements were under occupation, as well as provide all local residents living in these settlements with one-time financial assistance from the Red Cross Society in Ukraine in the amount of UAH 1200 per person.

Also, Ukrposhta delivered presidential aid to the residents of the liberated territories.

"Access to the recently de-occupied Lyman is still limited - there is no one here except the military and Ukrposhta. We are traditionally the first to enter the settlements, because we know how people who have been living under occupation for months are waiting for their pensions and food. Now Ukrposhta is more than a postal operator. This is a sign that recovery is beginning. And although it takes a lot of time and effort, we, for our part, will do everything to ensure that Donetsk region and its residents can return to normal life as soon as possible," commented Igor Smelyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta.

Also, Ukrposhta mobile offices will deliver essential goods: food, detergents, hygiene products - everything that will help to solve the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Preparations have also begun to resume the work of stationary Ukrposhta post offices.
