Unconquered:
Heroes of Ukrposhta
In memory of the heroic postal workers who died during the full-scale phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war
Yehor Istranov
04 August 2003 — 29 March 2025
He was born and raised in Antonivka, near Kherson. He was only 21 when he joined Ukrposhta as a driver. Yehor has always had a remarkable talent for technology: as a teenager, he repaired mopeds for himself and for his friends, at the age of 16 he was a good driver and later he got his licence. He not only drove but also repaired his car himself. During the full-scale war, in 2024, he graduated from a polytechnic college with a degree in industrial engineering and entered Kherson Agrarian and Economic University. He learnt to drive a truck, dreamed of seeing the world, of having a family and a big house...
Yehor’s kindness and caring nature did not allow him to stand aside in the first days of the great war, when others were at a loss. He helped volunteers by delivering water, bread, groceries and food for pets. Hard-working, active, independent and responsible – he was good at many things.
At Ukrposhta, he also delivered everything necessary to the residents of Kherson villages, because near the front line, Ukrposhta often remains the only link to civilization. On 19 February 2025, near Stanislav village, the postal vehicle was hit by a russian drone. Yehor was seriously injured and fought for his life for several weeks, but unfortunately, on 29 March 2025, his heart gave out.
Yehor Istranov had many sincere friends. He loved his mother, sister and grandmother very much. He was a kind and extremely bright person. And that is how we will remember him.
May you rest in peace. In loving memory...

During the first six months of the full-scale invasion, without hesitation, he went to defend his homeland. At first, he fought in the Air Assault Troops and then joined the 1st Airmobile Battalion of the 77th Airmobile Brigade. Eternal and boundless gratitude to the hero for his fight for Ukraine!
Dmytro Lisienkov

Dmytro worked as a postal operator in his native Fastiv. He was a responsible person who was not afraid of difficulties and boldly solved them. In the first week of the full-scale invasion, on 28 February 2022, he voluntarily applied to the Fastiv military enlistment office and joined the 8th separate rifle battalion of a separate machine gun platoon. During his service, he gained various military experiences — from mortar gunner to UAV operator.

Ukraine will always remember this brave warrior, loving son, husband and father.
Nikita Kozlov
02 April 1994 — 02 September 2024

Together with Ukrposhta, she has made a long way from a postal operator in the central office in Kharkiv in 2002 to the head of the mobile office 61415 in the Kharkiv oblast. In total, her work has strengthened 10 postal branches over the years.

Her colleagues, friends, family and friends will always remember her kindness, care and reliability in everything she did.
Hlib Yermoliuk
04 August 2000 — 18 June 2024
Hlib worked as a postal operator in the capital, where he was born and grew up. Walking around his native Kyiv, especially in Podil and Kontraktova Square, inspired his curiosity about the world around him. Outside of work, he loved to play sports and spend time with his family in outdoor cottages. He was equally interested in military topics: he liked to go shooting at the shooting range with his wife or friends.
With the onset of a full-scale invasion, Hlib started his military history by going to defend the country.
On 18 June 2024, he was killed in action for Ukraine near Makiivka, Svatove raion, Luhansk oblast.
It is our duty to be forever grateful for such contributions to Ukraine's independence and freedom — contributions at the cost of life.
Vasyl Patyk
02 February 1974 — 28 May 2024
Vasyl worked as a driver for Ukrposhta in the village of Bilohorodka, Kyiv oblast. His harsh character could not hide his sincerity, care and dedication from his colleagues, friends and family. Professionalism and commitment were very important to him in his work.
From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend Ukraine: first, he joined the territorial defence along with his neighbours and later mobilised. He took part in the defence of the Kyiv oblast and in battles in all the hotspots in the east.
He was killed on 28 May 2024 in Donetsk oblast during a combat mission when he was saving a wounded comrade-in-arms.
Forever in the history of Ukraine!
Roman Tkachenko
25 June 1968 — 04 November 2023
Roman worked as a postal operator in the city of Khmelnytskyi. His organisational skills, kind nature and compassionate heart helped him in his work and personal life: he was an adviser and friend to his colleagues, and a support and example to his family. He devoted his free time to history - he collected coins, participated in the Khmelnytsky Military History Reenactment Club and even made his own armour, costumes and ammunition to participate in various historical festivals.
On 25 February, Roman volunteered to join the Khmelnytskyi Territorial Defence Unit and from 14 April he was engaged in combat operations in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kherson oblasts. On 4 November 2023, as a squad commander, he was wounded in an artillery shelling near the village of Krynky, Kherson oblast.
Roman was posthumously awarded the Order ‘For Courage’, III class, and the title of ‘Honorary Citizen of Khmelnytskyi’.
Such warriors are the pride and inspiration of all Ukrainians!
Vasyl Perih

Vasyl worked as a postman in the village of Semianivka, Poltava oblast. He always approached each working day with responsibility and prudence, which allowed him to perform his duties efficiently and on time.
During the full-scale invasion, he went to war to defend his homeland from the russian invasion. He served as a rifleman.
On 15 September 2023, Vasyl died of an explosive injury in the village of Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast.

Viktor Bozhko
19 October 1977 — 20 August 2023
Viktor lived in Uzhhorod and worked as a courier for Ukrposhta. According to his colleagues, he was responsible, cheerful, and very kind.
He grew up in Transcarpathia, in the village of Poroshkovo. From childhood, he had a warm relationship with his father, mother, and brothers. He continued to value his family above all else as an adult, when he married and became the father of a son and daughter.
His principles and love for people did not allow him to stand aside when full-scale war broke out. In March 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. As a sergeant commander of a reconnaissance platoon in a special forces reconnaissance unit, he not only carried out important tasks in the combat zone, but also set an example of courage and sincerity for his comrades.
He supported and encouraged his loved ones. Even in the most difficult conditions at the front, he never complained about fatigue or the cruel reality that surrounded him.
On August 20, 2023, Viktor Bozhko was carrying out a combat mission in Zaporizhzhia, near the village of Robotyne. He was killed during mortar shelling.
We remember and thank him. Glory to the Hero!
Anastasiia Seniv
11 March 1991 — 06 July 2023
Our colleague was only 32. And she devoted 11 years of her life to the postal service. She started as an operator in the Lviv post office, then became a deputy head of the office, an auditor, a technologist and later a recruiter. She was capable of doing any job. Nastia approached her work with a smile and enthusiasm. She respected and loved people, and they responded in kind. She was always reliable.
That summer, Nastia had already chosen a white embroidered dress and was preparing for her wedding. But the occupiers decided otherwise. On the night of 6 July 2023, a russian missile hit a residential building. Anastasiia died on the spot with her mother – their apartment was the epicentre of the strike.
Oksana Sobchuk, Head of the Recruitment Department, tells us about her colleague and friend: “Nastia was like a sunshine. She was a very bright person. Always smiling, she never said or did anything bad to anyone. She had a fiancé with whom she planned to tie the knot, but, unfortunately, she did not have time... She is survived by her older brother, sister-in-law, nephews... This is a huge loss for us, which is very difficult to come to terms with and accept. Everyone who knew Nastia will remember her as cheerful, positive, kind, and blooming...”
We promise: We will remember. We miss you, Nastia...
Ivan Maistruk
10 February 1992 — 29 June 2023
Ivan worked at Ukrposhta as a driver. Thanks to his attentive and caring work, many parcels and letters reached their destination. His discipline played an equally important role in and outside of his profession, as he was also a farmer.
During the full-scale invasion, Ivan joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he applied his skills from civilian life: he served in a military unit as a combat vehicle commander.
On 29 June 2023, Ivan was killed during a combat mission near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Honour and glory to the brave warrior!
Vitalii Truba
01 September 1978 — 20 February 2023
Vitalii worked as a courier for the Kyiv Directorate of Ukrposhta. A high level of responsibility and a desire for development had been part of his personality since his early years: from training as a ship's cook and serving in the Ukrainian Navy to working in various fields. Friendship and its cordiality were very important to him. His friends, colleagues and family appreciated his sincerity, humour and kindness. Vitalii loved to please others with delicious dishes or spend time with his family on interesting active trips.
On 24 February 2022, Vitalii joined the volunteer formation of the territorial community of Rozhivka village, and on 5 June he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For almost a year, he performed combat missions in a separate motorised infantry battalion of a mortar battery in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
On 20 February 2023, he was killed during a combat mission near the village of Dubovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk oblast.
We are grateful to the hero for his life, given for the free future of Ukraine!
Oleksandr Skakun

Oleksandr served in the ATO from 2015 to 2016 as a reconnaissance machine gunner in a reconnaissance unit. During the full-scale invasion, he returned to the front as a mechanic driver for an armoured vehicle repair company.
On 19 December 2022, his life was cut short.
Let us remember the hero's contribution!
Andrii Dranychnykov
07 June 1982 — 19 October 2022
Andrii worked as a postman in the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. His sociability, kindness and discipline were integral to his professional and personal life, inspiring people around him.
From a young age, activity drove his life: from his study in Physical Education and Sports and his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to his passion for paintball and participation in knights’ tournaments in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi fortress.
His bravery brought him to defend Ukraine during the full-scale invasion. And he did this until 19 October 2022, when during an offensive in the Kherson region, Andrii died of incurable injuries.
Eternal glory to the hero!
Olena Kobets
10 August 1973 — 30 September 2022
Olena worked as a sales manager. Like no one else, she knew the importance of friendly and confident communication both at work and in her personal life. Colleagues, friends, family and relatives appreciated her care, concern and warm attitude towards others.
On 30 September 2022, in Zaporizhzhia, she died along with more than 30 people when russian invaders shelled a humanitarian convoy near a registration checkpoint for entry into the occupied territory. On that day, Olena was on the way to her mum, who was staying in the territory.
Let us remember every life taken by the russian invaders!
Serhii Ilashchuk
03 September 1986 — 26 June 2022
Serhii worked as an electrician at Ukrposhta in Zhovkva. His sincerity, attentiveness and diligence helped him to achieve his goals in many areas of life — from his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the early 2000s and his studies at the institute to his relationships with friends and family.
On the first day of the full-scale invasion, Serhii chose the path of a soldier again: he was one of the first who voluntarily joined the 24th Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a rifleman and sanitary assistant.
On 26 June 2022, his life was cut short in a battle near the village of Vovchoiarivka, Luhansk oblast.
He was awarded the Order for Courage of the III class and the Hero's Cross Order (posthumously).
Honour and glory to the hero!
Valentyn Kharechko
28 November 1976 — 21 June 2022
Valentyn Kharechko worked as a plumber at Ukrposhta. His care, attentiveness and kindness impressed and inspired colleagues, friends and relatives. He would do anything for his family.
His love for his family motivated Valentyn to serve in the ATO in 2015 — 2016. There, his commanders commended him for his service.
On 24 February 2022, Valentyn went back to defend the country from the enemy invasion. In the first week, he was deployed to one of the hottest spots — Volnovakha. Despite the extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, Valentyn succeeded in getting out of the encirclement. Later, he served in the 93rd ‘Kholodnyi Yar’ Brigade, in a reconnaissance platoon, in the same group as the public activist Roman Ratushnyi.
On 21 June 2022, Valentyn died from a shrapnel wound near the village Dibrivne, Kharkiv oblast, while saving his comrade-in-arms. In August of the same year, he was posthumously awarded the Order for Courage, 3rd Class.
The courage and commitment of such soldiers will forever be an example for the whole of Ukraine.
Oleh Stetsyshyn

Oleh had fought in eastern Ukraine since 2016. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he returned to the frontline to defend Ukraine and fought in hot spots.
On 12 April 2022, he was killed near Popasna in a tank attack.
Eternal glory to the hero who sacrificed his life for the future of Ukraine!
Oleksandr Yudaiev
06 April 1986 — 18 March 2022
Oleksandr managed one of the post offices in the city of Odesa. His leadership skills and knowledge gained during his studies in Public Management and Administration helped him to work with responsibility and prudence.
The aspiration for justice and the defence of his homeland led Oleksandr to serve in the ATO from 2016 to 2019, and then to defend Ukraine during the full-scale invasion from its very first days.
On 18 March, he was killed during a missile attack on the city of Mykolaiv.
Eternal glory to the warrior for his love for Ukraine until the last minute!
Elmira Zamotai
27 September 2001 — 05 March 2022
At a very young age, Elmira chose to become a postwoman at a mobile post office. She wanted to help her large family, where besides her, there were five brothers and sisters. Thanks to her kind heart, the people of the neighbouring villages received not only parcels, newspapers, letters and pensions but also her caring attitude.
On 5 March 2022, she and her colleague, Oleksii Halchanskyi, left Orikhiv in a car to work in the villages. Between Yehorivka and Novoselivka, their car was shot at.
Elmira was posthumously awarded the Order for Courage, III class.
We will always remember the employees whose care and dedication motivated them till the last minute.
Oleksii Halchanskyi
12 June 1987 — 05 March 2022
Oleksii worked as a driver in Orikhiv. He valued his job very much because he loved working with people, communicating with them, and helping them. He took great care of his workplace — his car was always in order.
Oleksii always had a cheerful mood that inspired his colleagues, family, friends and relatives.
On 5 March 2022, together with his colleague, postwoman Elmira Zamotai, he left Orikhiv to deliver parcels to the surrounding villages. On the way between Yehorivka and Novoselivka, their car was shot at.
Oleksiy was posthumously awarded the Order for Courage, III class.
We are proud of the courage and dedication of our employees who have been faithfully helping people even at the cost of their lives.
Tetiana Skurat
30 December 1987 — 25 February 2022
Tetiana worked as a postal operator first class in the city of Podilsk, Odesa oblast, for over 10 years. In 2019, inspired by her husband Oleksandr's example, she decided to join the military.
On 24 February 2022, Tetiana met the beginning of the full-scale invasion as a soldier in the 14th Radio Engineering Brigade of the 141st Separate Radar Company. On the same day, she died during the enemy missile attack in the village of Lypetske, Odesa oblast.
She was posthumously awarded the Defender of the Motherland Medal.
Tetiana was a strong-willed woman with firm character who gave her life for Ukraine. Our deepest gratitude, respect and memory to such people. These examples do not allow us to lose spirits and encourage us to keep faith in victory.
Oleh Mytkalyk
14 November 1993 — 22 September 2022
Oleh joined the Ukrposhta team shortly before the full-scale invasion, in October 2021. He worked as a driver in Volyn region, in Manevychi village.
His driving skills and professional experience came in handy when he was mobilised to the 16th Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi in April 2022 to defend his homeland. He served as a mechanic-driver in a tank platoon of a tank company.
Prior to this, Oleh had already gained not only professional driving experience but also military experience: from 2013 to 2015, he served in the National Guard and in 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
On 22 September 2022, russian occupiers launched another artillery attack in the area of Opytne village, near Bakhmut in Donetsk region. Senior soldier Oleh Mytkalyk died on a combat mission when defending Ukraine.
For his courageous and selfless performance of military duty, Oleh was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III class, on 15 September 2023.
Glory to the Hero, our gratitude and eternal memory!
Andrii Kobylianskyi
29 September 1975 — 21 April 2022
Andrii Kobylianskyi was born in Haisyn city, Vinnytsia oblast.
Responsible, principled, honest, he devoted 27 years to law: he worked as an investigator, then as a prosecutor, had a class rank, and was a colonel of justice. And when he retired due to long service, he decided to learn a new profession and got a job as a driver at Ukrposhta. Unfortunately, less than a month later, a full-scale war broke out.
Within a week, Andrii was mobilised, underwent a short training course and on 1 April 2022, he went to the East as part of the 9th Company of the 3rd Mechanised Battalion of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade. As a commander of an infantry fighting vehicle, he defended the Avdiivka sector.
Despite the confusion of the beginning of the great war, the rapid change of events, the lack of a well-established supply of weapons and enemy PSYOP, the unit held firmly in defense. On 21 April 2022, Ukrainian defenders fought an unequal battle near Novobakhmutivka village in Donetsk oblast. Many soldiers of the 110th Brigade were killed that day. Andrii died as a result of an explosive injury.
He was awarded the Order “For Courage”, III class (posthumously).
His family, friends, relatives, comrades-in-arms and colleagues will always keep him in their hearts with love and gratitude. Andrii is survived by his wife Oksana and two sons Valentyn and Danylo.
Eternal glory to the Hero!

He was killed on 28 May 2024 in Donetsk oblast during a combat mission when he was saving a wounded comrade-in-arms.
Forever in the history of Ukraine!

Oleh Mytkalyk

Prior to this, Oleh had already gained not only professional driving experience but also military experience: from 2013 to 2015, he served in the National Guard and in 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
On 22 September 2022, russian occupiers launched another artillery attack in the area of Opytne village, near Bakhmut in Donetsk region. Senior soldier Oleh Mytkalyk died on a combat mission when defending Ukraine.
